The Bi-annual Atlanta Rug Market took place last month. It is an excellent venue for rug retailers to see trends and the new lines that rug designers and mills are showing. We attends 3 shows every year: Surfaces in Las Vegas (See our March Style Companion for flooring introductions at this market), The Furniture Market in High Point, NC and The Atlanta Rug Market. We attend these markets to find the unusual and exciting in flooring and design. |
While it is always exciting to go to a market, I felt this market was dull. There seems to be the melting pot of new introductions ....Dots, Diamonds and Vines mixed up with Asian Orientals and Modern. Showroom after Showroom started to blend together to where all the rugs looked like "me too"!
